About Circle of Security

Most parents are invested in strengthening the relationship they have with their children and would love to be supported in doing so. The Circle of Security is an internationally acclaimed relationship-based parenting program designed to enhance attachment security between parents and children. A secure attachment between child and caregiver is critical to a child’s current and future wellbeing. This eight-session parenting course can help you nurture your child’s attachment, emotional resilience, and freedom to explore.

A quote from the course - ‘Being a parent may be the hardest job on the planet. The emotional rollercoaster we often find ourselves on can leave us asking our children, “What do you want from me?” Part of what makes parenting so challenging is that children don’t come with an instruction manual. That’s true, but there’s another way to look at it - our children ARE the instruction manual because from the moment they are born they’re doing their best to tell us what they need.’

About the authors of this course: Kent Hoffman, ReID, Glen Cooper, MA and Brett Powell, MA are psychologists devoted to translating complex developmental research and clinical insight into straightforward and accessible guidance for individuals and families. They have had a shared clinical practice in Spokane, Washington, since 1985. Much of their work has focused on creating the Circle of Security.
